Section 10
Formation of Academic Council
(1) There will be an academic council to work as an academic and academic body of the university (2) The composition of the Academic Council shall be as follows:-
(a) Vice-Chancellor – Chairman
(b) Registrar – Member
(c) Five members from among the chairpersons of various subject committees of the university (d) One member from among the teachers (e) Two members, one of whom is a woman, from among the people who have made special contributions in the fields of Buddhist philosophy, literature, education and culture. (f) Dean – Member – Secretary
(3) Other than the ex-officio members of the Academic Council, the nomination of the other members will be done by the Chancellor on the recommendation of the Executive Council.
(4) The term of office of the nominated members of the Academic Council will be three years.
(5) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (4), if the work of any nominated member of the Academic Council is not satisfactory, the Chancellor may remove him at any time on the recommendation of the Executive Council. But before such removal, he shall not be deprived of the opportunity to submit an explanation.
(6) If the position of a nominated member of the Academic Council becomes vacant due to any reason, another person will be nominated for the remaining period after completing the procedure as per sub-section (3).
(7) The procedure for the meeting of the Academic Council shall be as prescribed.
